It would be nice to have a pause, that would allow you to move the camera around so you can checkout the landscape and have a chance to plan your colony.

seems like the cap for colonists is 500, i tried to stress test my base to see how much it can hold, but after their numbers went above 500, colonist ships stopped coming in, the screenshot shows 502 because i had 499 colonist before the last ship came with 3
colonist ship started coming again after waiting for a long time for a colonist to die from combat wounds but soon stopped after reaching 500+ again
- no cheats, except for the structure limit bypass by using shortcut to build excess power collectors
I've been trying to control Colonists coming to the colny using the Landing permissions. I'm finding the landing permissions do not limit to the target percentage set. This is a crucrual setting since controling the number of colonist can either make or break the game
i've noticed that the wikia owner, and possibly the only admin, haven't been online for a month now. losing confidence on this endeavor if the admin is away when the wiki is rapidly growing
Hi all, just wanted to welcome and thank everyone for their hard work - editing and page creation has really picked up! I can't take credit for creating this page not sure who did.
I am really enjoying Planetbase so far.
Looking forward to building consensus and producing great content with all of you!
Any suggestions on using Categories vs manually linking pages together? I am not sure if Categories are the best or not, but it seems to be some of the most frequent edits (adding categories, removing categories, changing cateogy names, etc).
The only reason I like the categories is they automatically list all pages linked, so it is easy to build up a structure of related content. EX:
vital resources
-> water
-> water extractor
-> water tank
etc. I find the more content links to other content, the easier it is to find related, relavent information.
Does anyone else have thoughts? I was just doing what is easy but it is important for us to find consensus and maintain consistency.
"One thing I've noticed that can be a bit inconsistent is the "build cost/operate cost" table for each structure. Somebody (forgive me for not knowing who) started out making the tables as above, with a column for build costs and a column for operating costs, and then extra columns where necessary (eg. Capacity). My initial thought was it would be best to separate the build cost column into Metal and Biosplastic columns, and similarly the operate cost column into Power and Water. Honestly I'm not really sure which works best, as the tables do change quite a bit depending on the structure. Furthermore, some structures' operate costs change based on the components, so if anything we'd have to record empty levels."
(from main page talk -- couldn't figure out how to reply there :(
I went with a combined column for all costs for simplicity and to try and avoid the need for empty columns should we ever move to a template. My thought was the text would eventually be replaced by icons - ideally we should have concensus on table format when that change is made.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
